Never underestimate how good movement is for us folks, it is absolute medicine! 🙏🏽

I genuinely haven’t come across anyone in my 11+ plus years experience as a coach that has said they feel worse after exercising (unless it was a gut busting, joint wrecking, super long endurance event) which I would argue isn’t exercise but extreme sport 😅

This is the time of the year that most people set themselves unachievable goals and go hell for leather in the search for a perfect body or dream PB’s.

I encourage you to sit down and actually write out why it is you want to train and exercise and let that be your fuel to keep it up long term.

Truth of the matter is that the reason most people quit exercise is because they either lose motivation, they get injured or they don’t reach their goals.

Or all of the above 👆🏽😫

If you set your goals correctly and actually have actionable steps to get there and put systems in place to do so, it’s almost impossible to fail 😊

I don’t know who needs to see or hear this right now, but one week of being less strict food wise is 100% ok and you should not be made to feel guilty about it.

Not by anyone, but most importantly, not by yourself!
.
There is far too much emphasis put on this week between Christmas and New Year.
.
Being ‘on plan’ 100% of the time isn’t just very unsustainable, it’s prison.
.

I’ve been enjoying those delicious christmas delights over the last couple of days but I’ve also been balancing out my slight indulgence with lots of vegetables, LOTS of water and making sure I don’t snack solely on just the sugary stuff which is ALWAYS lurking around this time of the year!

Am I saying eat everything you want in ridiculous abundance and not anything nourishing too?
.
Absolutely NOT!
.
But what I am saying is don’t feel bad or guilty for having a few extra calories across these next few “limbo” days.
.
Enjoy yourself, walk LOTS, prioritise sleep, connect with family and friends and go in to the new year happy and ready to get to work on your health and well-being goals 💪🏽
.
